Last Friday, while we were battling to stay warm and dry inside our homes on that cold blustery day, there was a contingent from Sydney who were braving the inclement conditions to complete a 100km Coastal Trek, raising much needed funds for the Fred Hollows Foundation. Some of the wider Covenant community who were involved were: daughter-in-law of Chris O'Sullivan (Deputy Principal), Lara Cumming, ex Covenant student Skye Paton and Covenant parent Jane Logan. The teams started at 6am on Friday morning and finished at Coogee on Saturday in the early hours. Lara’s team, the Petit Fours, came 7th in the 100km all women's section and 13th overall; an amazing achievement of 100km in less than 24 hours!! Some participants like Jane Logan, joined the trek at 6pm and walked the last 50km during the night to finish on the Saturday morning. It was a great fundraiser for Fred Hollows – the weather was appalling but well done to all, including those in the Covenant Community who took part.
